Hae Park-Suk

Of Counsel

The World Trademark Review lauds Hae Park-Suk as “Smart, meticulous and undaunted” and “renowned for her clear communication style and strategic vision for maximizing global IP assets.”

Hae Park-Suk counsels clients in the areas of trademark prosecution, clearance, anti-counterfeiting, domain name disputes, licensing, and enforcement. She joined Nixon Vanderhye in 2015 after practicing at two prominent law firms in Washington, D.C., working at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a trademark examining attorney, and serving as an intern and law clerk in the Office of the Commissioner for Trademarks.

Experienced in managing extensive global portfolios, Hae takes pride in offering practical, business-oriented counsel that is tailored to her clients’ strategic goals. As noted in World Trademark Review, her clients praise her as being “perpetually available and patient” and “able to [balance] legal uncertainties with business realities.”

The majority of clients Hae represents today have been relying on her legal advice for more than two decades – a true testament to her skill and client focus. She brings in-depth experience serving individuals, institutions, family-owned businesses and Fortune 500 companies across a broad spectrum of industries, including those in the advertising and marketing; transportation and logistics; games, toys and entertainment; and wine and food sectors.

Much of Hae’s practice is focused on advising clients on the availability and proper use of trademarks, managing U.S. and foreign trademark portfolios, developing enforcement and defensive strategies, resolving trademark disputes, and working with customs agents in the U.S. and around the world to prevent import and export of counterfeit products that threaten her clients’ brands and reputations.

Hae credits her time working in various USPTO departments with giving her valuable insight on how to navigate the rich resources offered by the office and the importance of keeping abreast on the ever-evolving trends in trademark practice and case law. She also views that experience as instrumental in providing her with the broad perspective she applies when exploring IP protection and enforcement strategies. Hae’s clients ultimately reap the benefits of that foundation through her delivery of efficient and results-driven counsel.
