IT Specialist

Nixon & Vanderhye in Arlington, Virginia is seeking a highly enthusiastic, self-motivated IT Specialist to be a core member of our technology team.  The IT Specialist is responsible for the day to day operational activities of help-desk support, network infrastructure and security. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service and work well under pressure, have a strong sense of ownership with skills in building, testing and maintaining a high availability, mission-critical infrastructure. 

Must have 3+ years of experience working in areas of Desktop Support, System Admin or Network Admin. In-depth knowledge in Microsoft Windows platforms, MS Office 2013, O365, Remote Desktop Services, VPN, VMWare, SQL, Exchange, Active Directory, Cyber Security, Backup and Recovery, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP concepts, User Provisioning, Desktop/Laptop support, Imaging, HP Printers, VOIP phone and A/V set up. Open Source software experience is a plus. Previous law firm experience preferred.

Hours are 9:30am-6:00pm with some evenings and weekends as needed (must be flexible). Remote work available until the firm returns to normal operating status but this position may be required to work in the office from time to time.
